During Hamilton’s student years, he wrote and published three influential pamphlets defending the colonists' cause in protesting the actions of the British government and supported recent decisions of the Continental Congress. General George Washington, the first president of the United States, took interest of his profound writings and suggested him to join the general’s military staff. I enjoyed you video on Alexander Hamilton, who was a founding father of the United States of America. Your video had a great design, and the music added some drama to draw a viewer into the presented material. However, to expand on the subject, I would like to talk about Alexander Hamilton’s role after the revolutionary war. After the revolutionary war, Alexander Hamilton was the first secretary of Treasury, and he was responsible for identifying and solving the national debt crisis.

Hamilton ensured that many of the holders of financial dept would be wealthy merchants, so that they had a financial stake in the new governments survival. This caused wealthy merchants to therefore become involved and want the government to be successful due to their financial stake in its future success. The establishment of a central bank was one of Hamilton’s reforms that allowed the American economy to stabilize and thereby establish its own currency . A bank gave the United States the opportunity to print their own currency, so that they would no longer be forced to utilize the British pound. This served as a solution to the United States identity issue, as it no longer identified itself with that of its oppressor’s currency.

The Revolution was a success, the Articles of Confederation were a failure, and the new Constitution was in its early stages. George Washington became the first president of the United States and established many precedents for the future leaders. All americans wanted the United States to grow stronger, lots of conflicts between whose view of america is best for our nation, Alexander Hamilton or Thomas Jefferson. Alexander Hamilton’s point of view was best for America because Hamilton wanted a strong federal government, he agreed foreign policy, and the Constitution to grow bigger.

John Quincy Adams was born on July 11,1767 in Quincy, Massachusetts. To his parents; John Adams ( Former President of the United States) and Abigail Adams. Being the first and oldest son of the two. His mother also homeschooled him for a while until they sent him to a private academy just on the outside of Paris. John Quincy also attended Harvard and graduated in 1787 with a Bachelor 's Degree(Which is also two years before his father became president.)

Hamilton defended the Constitution well by writing ⅔ of The Federalist Papers 85 essays. Colonist seen that they should have a strong central government other than the weak Articles of Confederation. Since Hamilton and his colleges, John Jay and James Madison, defended the Constitution we now still use that document for the structure and powers of our government. However, other than Alexander supporting the Constitution which is now the structure of our government, he also fought in the Revolutionary War. Hamilton leading assaults at the Battle of Yorktown and Trenton and also serving as a translator to both sides.

Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury of the United States, had a lot going for himself being a man that came from poverty to success, and he was a man “all powerful and fails at nothing which he attempts” admitted a congressman in 1791 (Tindall and Shi). Born in the Caribbean in the West Indies, abandoned by his father and orphaned at the age of 13 by his late mother who had died. Later moved to New York, became a lawyer and transitioned to nationalism thus giving him the important role of handling the weight of the debt America had accumulated $54 million deep after the Revolutionary War (Digital History). Hamilton saw the need for some financial credit to be given to America and he had the right idea by proposing a National Bank to his first president George Washington. With President George Washington leading the nation, there were two visionaries who helped shape our nation. Their opposing views aide in understanding where the Government stood and the economic visions of these two men in the 1790’s. Alexander Hamilton vision of leading the nation was to push the country forward, organizing, and more modern. Thomas Jefferson was an agrarian who believed in keeping order and only that congress should only take action when absolutely necessary. On December 14, 1790 Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury’s Report on a National Bank was introduced.

He became a delegate to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, in 1780, and eventually left three years later, back to Virginia, to help work on a religious freedom statute. Shortly after, he was called back to congress to join in the writing of the constitution. The Articles of Confederation were created as the first constitution for the U.S. in 1776, after we claimed independence from Britain. This gave the legislatures most of the power, then acted more as individual countries, other than one unified country, which tore our ability to maintain national debt, and keep a proper army.

Who is Alexander Hamilton? He is a founding father who isn’t really in your average history book. He isn’t even from our country yet he still didn’t care. The major parts of his life were his childhood, the revolution, and then what happened after the war. Hamilton’s childhood played a big part in his life.

Alexander Hamilton was the first secretary and treasury during George Washington’s first years of presidency. Not only was he a secretary, and treasurer he was a federalist. Hamilton’s Financial Plan tied together with the Whiskey Rebellion. The government wanted the national government to pay off the war debts which later put Washington in debt. Most of the southerners had already paid off most of their debt, but the northern people felt the need that they did not need to.

Hamilton spent four years by Washington's side and fought in the Battle of Yorktown and the Battle of Monmouth. He married Elizabeth “Betsey” Schuyler December 14, 1780 and he left the military shortly their marriage. Eventually, Hamilton became one of New York's most prominent lawyers. In the early 1780’s, Hamilton became a New York representative for the national Congress in Philadelphia. George Washington became the first President of the United States in 1790 and he picked Alexander Hamilton to be his first Secretary of the Treasury.

When the Revolutionary war came about, Hamilton defended the Patriots against the Loyalists: this was his first political article written. In this moment is when he gained respect from militant leaders like George Washington. Hamilton then became a part of the New York Provincial Artillery Company and fought in the war. Later, Washington appointed Hamilton as the first Secretary of Treasury. As Hamilton understands of law and politics grew, he decided to pursue a goal of his: establishing a more diverse government under the new Constitution.

Hamilton nearly killed himself fulfilling these requests, but he did so brilliantly and completely, in turn exhausting congress going through them meticulously. He dazzled them with his brilliance and many were simply intellectually incapable of comprehending his plans. Not content to establish the customs service and the coast guard, and create a stable monetary system for the new government, Hamilton also dabbled in the affairs of state, much to the chagrin of Thomas Jefferson. He was once again an indefatigable assistant to Washington. Hamilton left the cabinet after Washington’s first term, returning to his New York law practice to repair his family finances, but Washington continued to rely upon him, as did many other cabinet members.

In 1777, Hamilton had become George Washington’s assistant. In the year of 1788 he convinced New Yorkers to ratify the U.S Constitution. He then became the secretary if the treasury. He was a founding father, served in the military, studied law, was involved in politics and government. He is also on U.S currency (10-dollar bill) who was never a president.
