“Taking A Stand In History”, hat is a big title to put onto a specific person or organization. Anyone whether past or present should be honored to have the title disposed upon them. Thus I have chosen a person that not many people my age would know or reconize. A founding father of the United States of America, no not George Washington, not John Adam, not Thomas Jefferson, and not Benjamin Franklin, though yes amazing choices but the person I have chosen I believe isn't seen as well as the others and deserves his fair share for what he has done throughout history, Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was born between 1755-1757 in British West Indies. Abandoned by father because of adulterous affair in 1766. He grew up without privilege. Then ame to mainland colonies in 1773. Soon after Hamilton enrolled in what is now Columbia university. Realizing where his interest layed he decided to become a lawyer, involved political strife. So then published his first writing a friend of America. The revolutionary war began in 1775 Hamilton left college to join the war. And by 1777 he was a Lieutenant Colonel and aide de camp to George Washington. While in the army he married Elizabeth Schuyler. After the American Revolution he worked as a lawyer in New York. Joined the Continental Congress and in 1787 was a New York delicate to the constitutional convention in Philadelphia. Fought to replace the flawed articles of Confederation with a constitution that guaranteed a strong central government. When Washington was elected president in 1789 he tapped Alexander Hamilton to be the first secretary of the treasury. He then designed The treasury department.
