Alan Turing (Alan Mathison Turing) was born on June 23, 1912, in Maida Vale, London, England, and died June 7, 1954 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. (“Alan Turing Biography”) Even as a child he showed signs of very high intelligence that some of his teachers recognized, but not all of them respected it. (“Alan Turing Biography”) When Turing attended an independent Sherborne School that was well known at the age of 13, he realized his interests in both math and science. (“Alan Turing Biography”) After Sherborne, Turing enrolled at the University of Cambridge, or King’s college, in Cambridge, England, learning there from 1931-1934.
