My Philosophy Statement on Adult Education Adult Education is key to a lot of successful individuals in the world. There are many individuals that go to college in order to get in a career. Education is important, because it allows students to grow into professional individuals for the workforce. When I am at my internship at Morgan State University I realized how impactful it is to help students. The reason why I wanted to study Adult Education was to help individuals become leaders of the world, since I was once was an undergraduate college student. I love to communicate with students and help them with papers so they can progress, graduate, and enter the career field. Adults from all ages enter into education to better their lives and themselves. As I help students in the computer lab with papers I notice that a lot of them have different majors from criminal justice, nursing, and education. All of the students are working to achieve a degree to be well established professionals in their careers. Adult Education was my goal in graduate school, because I like to help to people go to the next stage in their adulthood life. It is important that adults learn about life lessons in order to enter into a competitive society. Therefore, classes on psychology, or multicultural development can help adults learn how to cope with different stages in their adult life while being in college, or in a GED course. Another reason why is my goal to study Adult Education, because I enjoy presenting knowledge in a classroom full of adult learners through power point presentations. My goal is to become a professor teaching creative writing, poetry or a communication course because I’m very passionate about the writing and the media field. I believe that expressing through words and art is important to get away from the stresses of adulthood. Also, in my adult education classes I learned about cultural differences and adult programming.
