After Malcom is attacked by the tyrannosaur he is put on a high dose of morphine that makes him talk even more. But even in his drugged state he makes some valid philosophical statements. One thing that he says is, “Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.” This statement is true. In the book John Hammond is so preoccupied with whether or not he can clone dinosaurs he never asks himself whether or not it is a good idea. Even as the story continues he still thinks that the creation of dinosaurs is good idea.
