Art is a field of creativity and feelings. It can be used to explain something that cannot be explained with words. Art consists of many things; it does not have to be interpreted or translated to be appreciated. Art can be broken down into these different types: representational, abstract and nonrepresentational art.
Representational art is often the first type that comes to mind for many people. It consists of things that are meant to resemble something specific and is considered natural. If the specific thing happens to be a person, the art is considered figurative art. Trompe l’oeil is French for “fool the eye” and is a style of art that falls into the category of representational art. This style of painting is often used for realistic paintings. Some of these paintings are marveled for how realistic they look. A Smoke Backstage is a good example of this art style and category as the artist William Harnett captures the correct size and lighting of the actual materials (Frank 9).
Abstract art is a unique type of art as it uses the idea of objects, but paints them in a way that is overly simplified or changed drastically from the original object. It may be considered not natural at all or a distorted natural. Abstract art is always interesting as it is a concept that can be interpreted very differently from person to person.

This type of art is occasionally hard to recognize as art often hides the meaning or representation to quick glances. Even art that does not represent a thing can often represent ideas or feelings. A great example of this is Gray Night Phenomenon by Alma Woodsey Thomas. This work of art is not representing any particular thing, but instead reflects the mood that is associated with the artist during a gray night (Frank 11-12). Since the art does not resemble any particular object, it falls under the classification of nonrepresentational
Art is how an artist expresses their own emotion in their artwork. Artwork can express more than just emotion, it can be used as a memorial, awareness, and even art movement. Art movements are very powerful when used correctly. Art movements are created in different medium in art. Elizabeth Sisco has done a graphic design of Chicano movement.
Fahrenheit 451 is a novel written by Ray Bradbury and published in 1953. The novel is about a society that is repressed by a dictatorship, which makes people can not think, thanks to education, culture, media of communication and the memory of history that the dictatorship is repressing and controlling and is creating an ignorant society that does not process all the information that is given to them: "People do not talk about anything. Oh they will talk about something! No, nothing. They cite a series of cars, clothes or swimming pools and they say it's great.
The appealing factor of this paintings comes from its message and juxtaposition of colours and stroke

Overall, Smoke Signals challenges the conventional views and stereotypes

Lines, spacing, color and shapes are the basic elements of art. I believe art is an expression of the body, mind, and soul of an individual. I also believe art shouldn 't have any boundaries, nor should have restrictions. I believe art always has something to say, but never needs to make a statement. The audience always has the right to interpret art as they see fit.
“In the silence of their studios, busied for days at a time with works which leave the mind relatively free, painters become like women; their thoughts can revolve around the minor facts of life and penetrate their hidden meaning.” There’s a hidden meaning or objective behind every artist’s work. We all interpret paintings differently; some art can be forms of phi phenomenon (illusion of movement created by presenting visual stimuli in rapid succession), or others could be interpreting cues such as Monocular and Binocular. We can’t fully understand what the artist is trying to present unless there is an outline, but we can surely look at the texture, colour, line and shape of each painting to get a meaning for ourselves. A person that demonstrates a form of interpreting his art is Stu Oxley.
Art Deco is a style of visual arts, architecture and design that became popular between 1920’s-1930’s. Art Deco had geometric shapes, clear and precise lines, and structures with metal or ceramic finish. They even had sculptures of the same. The bright colours and geometric shapes were typical Art Deco style.
There is very little space in this painting, as the background is mostly dark leaving the work with only a depth of two dimensions. In the background, the value of brown gets lighter only at the bottom of the painting, and shows the trace of a shadow indicating there is a faint light on the man. Repetition is only used to create an interesting pattern of clothing for the man. This work is a form of representational art since it presents a subject and objects from reality, which include the man, the gun (or arquebus), and the clothes as well. The presence of a gun (modern weaponry) suggests that this painting was from colonial South America and represents people from a higher status, based on the quality of clothing.
Reflections, shadows, and earthly objects can be portrayed in this painting as well. Although they are both telling stories about
Art is when the artists and the people express themselves, their passion and their feelings, and convey sentiment. Art can affect people in unique ways and unlock their mind. Art can interpret in many different ways. Art can have a special meaning. Art has shown what society is going through at any given moment over the years.
Artwork is what gives our life much more flavor to it. Life without art would be dull, and lackluster. Everything would be so basic, bare, and simple. Creativity is what really makes artwork amazing. People really enjoy some artists artwork, and are very passionate about it.
Her artworks often take the ordinary and make it into an almost dreamlike
1. What is artistic expression? Artistic expression to me now is that artistic expression can be shown in many different ways. It is unique to the eye of the beholder, it can be interpreted in many ways, and it can be either very complex or easy to decipher. The artists takes all its feelings or perspective out through creation.
