Today was quite a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the air smelled of a fresh spring morning. Oh wait, that’s just my imagination. It was actually quite dark, and I couldn’t hear anything. The coins next to me couldn’t even talk. I mean, come on I can! I was trapped. Trapped in some man named Scrooge’s pocket. I’ve been here in his pocket for a while now. He never takes me out, not even to pay his assistant Bob Cratchit. He only pays him in pence not even close to half-a-crown. He’s rich! And he won’t give me to the poor or the homeless. However, today that all changed. Scrooge put on his coat this morning and let and a great hearty chuckle. I almost couldn’t believe it, that is until the stench of his breath came through the cloth of his pocket. Scrooge, the same Scrooge who I believe has never laughed in his entire life was actually laughing! I have no idea what came over him that Christmas day, but suddenly he was acting exceptionally nice. Scrooge walked over to the window and looking only slightly confused called out “What’s to-day!” What sounded like a young boy responded with “To-day!” “Why, CHRISTMAS DAY.” I heard Scrooge muttering to himself. “It’s Christmas Day! I haven’t missed it. The Spirits have done it all in one night. They can do anything they like. Of course they can. Of course they can.” I have no idea what he meant when he said Spirits, I believe he may be going mad. Although, what he said next surprised me even more. “Do you know the Poulterer’s, in the next street but one, at the corner?” he asked the
The he goes out to eat some where cause it was freaky in his house so he was going to the Christmas dinner but it was to pack, then he saw Tiny Tim is coming, to grab the tissues and gets ready for tear-jerking. Once waking up from the encounter with each spirit, Ebeneezer Scrooge is amazed that each visit only had taken up one night - meaning today was Christmas! Delighted, Scrooge acts in a way we have never seen before, even while getting ready in the morning. “Shaving was not an easy task, for his hand continue to shake very much and shaving requires attention, even while you don’t dance while you are at it. But if he had cut the end of his nose off, he would have put a piece of sticking-plaster over it, and been quite satisfied” (108).In all staves of the book, Scrooge has never shown so much joy. He is finally able to show kindness to others and be simply happy.
Scrooge realized what he was doing wrong and made this conclusion from his own life. After Scrooge said this the ghost of Christmas yet to come took him back to Scrooge's time. Scrooge bought a goose for Tiny Tim and his family. Scrooge was acting delightful, and he smiled at everyone he saw.
The nephew then says what right have you to be dismal? What reason have you to be morose? You’re rich enough. This dialogue between Scrooge and his nephew once again shows the reader that Scrooge is all consumed with money so much so that a sacred holiday such as Christmas means nothing to him.
There are many ways for someone to become left out and become cold hearted. In many cases, this person loses care for all things that would normally matter to most people. Being happy for them is nearly impossible as they can only see the negative aspects in anything. There cup becomes half empty instead of being half full. In the place of Ebenezer Scrooge’s outlook on life, he feels no joy. Ever since his lifelong business partner, Jacob Marley, kicked the bucket, Scrooge became more stingy than he ever was. A time of useless giving, robbery, is what Scrooge sees Christmas as.
On page 121 it said, “...he continued, leaping from his stool, and giving Bob such a dig in the waistcoat that he staggered back into the tank again- ‘and therefore, I am about to raise your salary!’” This shows that Scrooge has changed because he is being nice and raising Bob’s
“The righteousness of the blameless keeps his ways straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness”(Prov. 11:5). The story, “A Christmas Carol”, is about a cold-hearted man named Scrooge who transforms himself into a jolly, kind man when three Ghosts teach Scrooge about the spirit of Christmas. In the story, Charles Dickens illustrates the theme of how no one is past redemption through the transformation of Scrooge’s personality by the lessons of the Spirits. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge’s selfish personality is revealed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past comes and shows him the memories and truth of his life long ago.
Scrooge in "The Christmas Carol" shows how much he hates Christmas, and everyone he works with to change to a happy person with the help of others. Scrooge emphasizes, "What a fine day fellow... An Intelligent boy, a remarkable boy. " This is a critical part of this novel because this shows Scrooge overcame his dislike of Christmas and his entire disliking of people. Instead of rudely gesturing to people, he is now starting to act nicer, and more mature.
(Dickens 6.3). After that, someone guessed “It’s your Uncle Scrooge!” (Dickens, 6.3). When everyone laughed, Scrooge began to feel very sad that people were making fun of him for the way he acted. At that point, Scrooge knew that he needed to make a major change in his

Scrooge finally changed when he saw what his life would become if he did not
