“Technology Taking Over?”, by Yzzy Gonzalez speaks on how we are transitioning into a technology dependent society. One example Gonzalez uses to fortify her argument is the idea that people become obsessed with using rapid, and more efficient devices to proceed with their daily lives. For reference, she mentions mobile banking and its effects on how people spend their money. For perspective, mobile banking allows for people to transfer money with convenience, which in turn abolishes the need to drive to an ATM. Moreover, Gonzalez utilizes her own morning routine and provides the reader with rhetorical questions—encouraging them to reflect upon their own morning routine, as well as the similarities that could be present.

In the article, “You Are Already Living Inside a Computer” Ian Bogost informs his audience of how technology is advancing at a very rapid rate and is affecting our day to day lives. Bogost is fearful because he suspects people are becoming so addicted to technology that they want to form into it. He quotes “newer dreams of what’s to come predict that humans and machines might meld, either through biohacking or simulated consciousness.” (Bogost 5). When new technology comes out people become excited and want the newest version right away.

What’s going to happen to all of the unemployed? How much longer will we have these jobs till we’re replaced? Are they doing more harm than good? These are questions that people ask when they think about robots and how technology is advancing. I believe that while there are bad things that happen from robots as a person who is going to school for computer science and technology I believe that these robots can do well, I just think that we shouldn’t let them control everything.

To set up this analogy they use the line, “I sweat my rust”. As humans, we sweat, and if we were made of metal we would sweat creating rust. This depicts us as humans being robots that are trained to perform some task that someone has decided is what we are supposed to do. They also use the line, “Enough to make my systems blow” to indicate how this change and revolution is taking place is going to blow our systems of our beings. Robot’s systems are the programming behind the robot that indicates what the robot is supposed to do.

Thompson illustrated what kind of world we would live in if work were to diminish. This world included excessive amounts of dominating robots, contentious politics, and leisure time. For the past couple of years people have said that robots will take over and dominate humans. This has always been a myth, or rather a topic that is brushed off of the shoulders. However, this fantasy is quickly becoming a reality due to current trends in technology.

Biz Carson in her article “Self-driving cars are here, but that doesn 't mean you can call them 'driverless '” discusses the status of self-driving car technology today and what drivers should expect from it in the years to come. The article uses sources that include, interviews conducted by the author, outside sources, and personal experiences in giving detailed discerptions of self-driving car technologies making it a secondary source. The article being published in the Business Insider and the article not having proper citations for the sources used categorizes it as a popular source. The writer tries to inform the audience about the growing technology of self-driving cars by creating a connection with the audience. She starts by

Many people have different ways of approaching the topic of machines in our society today. Machines have certainly improved how individuals in the workforce produce their good or service; however, these such machines can lead to negative consequences. If our society does not limit our machine 's capabilities, it can lead to effects that cannot be understandable or controllable. Although machines have incredible abilities in reality, these abilities have certain flaws which can lead to something disastrous.

Hollywood 's negative depiction of robots greatly differs from the reality of them. Many jobs that are too dangerous for humans to do can easily be done by robots. Not only do they help us on Earth, but in space too! Scientists are studying ways that robots can help human health through exoskeleton-like prosthetics. Though science fiction says otherwise, robots are beneficial to humans in many ways.

Patrick lin makes the reader think and analyze the possible outcome of the robotic industry. As stated in the essay “With the new development of robotics, it almost makes you do some soul searching on what really makes us human.” His humorous idea about robots overthrowing the world is funny, but, when you think about in a real standpoint and how technology is being made to have a mind of its own, it’s not a far-fetched
