For the scope and sequence assignment, I chose American History for a 9-12 cluster. High school clusters are quite different from other grade clusters, but they also hold some similarities. For example, high school clusters are subject specific, for example history/ social studies, math, etc. Grades 6-8 are similar in that courses are also subject specific. In PK-2 and 3-5 clusters, however, clusters are based on grades, not subjects, thus making studies interdisciplinary. Because of this, scope and sequence is different. In a high school, cluster planning is done based on an individual subject or topic (such as World History and American History being two separate courses), whereas at an elementary level, planning can be done by mixing multiple subjects in one. For example, an English and social studies unit at elementary level can be incorporated by writing about different community helpers (i.e. teachers, police, doctors, etc). …show more content…
I will provide two examples I have personally observed. This month is Spanish heritage month, and at work the elementary Spanish and music teacher have teamed together to integrate Spanish heritage and music. In music, students have been learning about Spanish musicians and learning Spanish songs. In History 1111, it teaches a broad introduction to the development of the United States. From the casualty losses to major expansion, the United States has developed World History with each major aspect of important, historical events. In this course I have learned not only important events, but how to analyze them and how they affect our world today. History is a great topic because as we acknowledge past events, it influences the future. Events really mold the culture and society that everyone lives in.

Out of all the texts i analyzed in this unit so far, my favorite would have to be the Jim Crow Laws. I personally liked this one more due to the chaos and absurdity of the laws. I took an interest in it and i was most entertained while writing the prompt and while reading about it. The source i used was Rise and Fall of Jim Crow Laws PBS, it was very informative and the visuals of the website gave me a better understanding of what it was like in the past.
The assignment I was given was about American Revolution. We were expected to write about Common Sense by Thomas Paine ,The Tea Act, The Battle Of Yorktown ,One Patriot and we had to make a timeline. I used to overlook this notion as a simple concept that’s easy to accomplish within a team. However, I’ve learnt that it is not so easily achieved. Functional interprofessional collaboration is integral in delivering optimal health care and promotion. Successful interprofessional collaboration is important for nursing students, such as myself, as it is a concept and skill that is applicable to multiple contexts. My experience in an elementary school has given me the chance for mutual learning and collaboration with non-health professionals within the broader context of the community.
