Kevin Locke was born in 1954 on the Standing Rock Reservation. Locke is a performer and a teacher who is interested preserving Indian, especially the Lakota traditions. He works very hard to make sure that his cultural heritage survives and prospers. He is a flute player and a hoop dancer. He received his master’s degrees in education administartion and community education from the University of South Dakota. He is a popular performer and storyteller. Locke is widely traveled, has been to Africa, Canada Europe and Australia.
