Dr. Lee Francis is from Laguna Pueblo and grew up in New Mexico. He earned his Ph.D in 1991. Francis is well known as a man who helps and encourages other Indians to research, write and publish. He is the editor of the Moccasin Telegraph and has recently published a book entitled Native Time: an Historical Timeline of Native America. Dr. Francis is the National Director of the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers, whose mission is to educate and inform Native peoples and others about Native Americans. He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is currently the Director/Chair and Associate Professor of Native American
Studies at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM.
