Diane Burns, 1957-

Diane Burns was born in 1957. Burns ‘s father is a Chemehuevi and her mother is an Anishinabe. The Chemehuevi are the richest tribe in America and their tribal lands include part of Palm Springs, California but Burns has stronger ties with her mother’s people, who come from Lac Court Oreilles in Wisconsin. Her poetry is known for its humor and honesty.
