Sites about Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

by Haruki Murakami

This science fiction novel consists of alternating chapters, half set in a futuristic Japan in which data, rather than money, is laundered by the main character and others like him, while the other half occur in an isolated village where a second narrator reads dreams from the skulls of unicorns. The way the two worlds intertwine over the course of the book makes some intriguing and moving statements about identity, human connections, and reality.
