Essay On Why I Want To Become A Nurse

I am a very goal orientated and hard working student who has a passion for helping others. I am interested in becoming a nurse because it gives me the chance to help others feel better and regain their strength. I grew up around my aunt who suffered from Breast Cancer; it was very tough to see a woman who had some much strength and energy struggle with just getting up out of bed. It hit our family hard, my aunt was the person to go to when you just needed a hug or a laugh. To see her in pain hurt everyone.

My lifetime aspiration and ambition is to become a Labor and Deliveries nurse . With that being said, I have the desire to pursue a Bachelor's degree in the science of Nursing. I have been fascinated and determined to have the positive sense of being so kind hearted for others and making them feel beloved . The undertaking of achieving this goal has taken quite a big reasonable part of my life at a young age. To illustrate this in a better view, In the eighth grade, i've taken part in many clubs, medical classes, clinical site rotations, and or more profound organizations .

I have always admired nurses from a young age. I used to look at them as mother figures for the patient who they help nurse back to health. It is not until I got older I realized just how much responsibility that is. When I was 7 years old my father suffered a major stroke, he was hospitalized for months. The hospital and section that he was in did not allow children on the floor.

I am passionate about making a difference to people’s lives. Nursing is a career that fulfils this ambition. Having been part of a large family I have been learnt to help others and to do the best I can in everything. I am inspired to be a nurse by my mother who shared her experiences about her nursing career. Her advice and experiences are still an inspiration.

I didn 't always know that nursing was my choice of career. I have had no divine intervention, nor am I following in the footsteps of a parent or relative. However, I have had the pleasure of meeting a few healthcare professionals who have recently inspired me with their skill and passion; which I someday hope to equal or excel. I believe my main reason for choosing nursing as a career is my desire to help people; especially in some of their most vulnerable moments. I do not only want to be a caretaker, but I want to be a friend and trusted advisor to my patient.

Pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse is a part of me that I am extremely passionate about. It is not only a career path for me, however it’s a part of who I am. When I am asked,Why do I want to be a nurse? My answers are always, this is a challenging , emotional and educational career in which each area grows beyond expectation throughout one's career and I want to be part of all of that and more. I feel that my passion and perseverance can make this vision of becoming a registered nurse a reality.

This has been a great opportunity to determine if nursing is the career for me. At this point I am certain that nursing is for me. A part of my ROP nursing class, I help at a nursing home once a week for four hours. This has given me an insight of the advantages and the disadvantages of nursing. I honestly think that making a person’s life more comfortable outweighs the disadvantages.

My Future of Becoming a Registered Nurse Want to send your career helping those in need? A registered nurse (RN) is an awarding job since you are helping so many people and you would be proud of yourself for what you do everyday. As a registered nurse you can help people in different ways, not only physically, but mentally also. Since I was a child, I always wanted to become someone who helped someone in need. I asked my mom what career could I pursue in to help people everyday and she said a nurse, so I looked further into it and decided I would love to become a registered nurse.

Have you ever pondered about what career you wanted to achieve as you became older? As a child, I always pondered on what I wanted to become when I became older and in sixth grade I was determined to become a Pediatric Nurse. Along the way of deciding what I should become I had no ideas such as becoming a lawyer, neonatal nurse or an actress. I soon realized that a few of my future dreams were unrealistic or did not interest me as much now as they did when I was younger. Pediatric nurses involves them in interacting with patients that vary in illnesses and age, requires them to have strong communication and numerous years of education and training.

In many cases I experienced the desire to help these people. It wasn’t until I moved to by college campus here in the United States that I realized that nursing is truly the right occupation for such a person as I am. Campus life made me change many things in this life. Slowly I started to realize many things I failed to realize in the earlier stages of my life. Moving to the other place helped me to start communicating with the people like me.

“Nurses save lives” is a very popular quote that I keep reminding myself of everyday. Returning to school for me, is not just personal but also professional. Personally I believe that I have so much to offer to the nursing field. I am committed to the career and I get great satisfaction from helping others.

Nurses are trained to take care of the sick or infirm and give medical attention to patients especially in a hospital. Becoming a Nurse interest me because I love helping people and caring for your patient. My most important reasoning was to take care of my loves. Like when my father had a massive heart attack and I watched how the nurses took care of him. That motivated me to want to pursue a this career.

My goal is to become a neonatal nurse so that I can care for babies that are sick and need additional help and assistance. I want to help infants and their families and make a difference in their lives. Just as the nurses that I was inspired by, I want to give the best possible care to every patient. I know my nursing journey will teach me many lessons and require a lot of courage and perseverance. During my nursing studies I hope to always remain persistent when I feel overwhelmed or uncertain.

Apart of showing a patient that you care involves sharing humor, which promotes active communication. 4 Contributes to feelings of togetherness, closeness, and friendliness. Feeling close to someone is an incredible sensation since nurses visit several patients a day so, that promotes patient value.
